History of the Inkberrow broadband campaign
Since the beginning of March 3003, Tapcast have been
campaigning for the Inkberrow exchange to be upgraded so
that broadband would be available to homes and
businesses in Inkberrow.
To get the Inkberrow exchange upgraded people had to
register their interest in broadband with BT. When enough
people had registered their interest, BT gave the
Inkberrow exchange a ‘trigger level’ of 300 registrations.
The trigger level was reached on
4th
February 2004, after the number of Inkberrow residents
registering their interest in broadband hit 300.
By the
23rd April,
BT
had checked that the registrations where genuine and
issued a ready for service date of the 7th July
for the Inkberrow exchange.
Between the
announcement of the ready for service date and the
7th
July, BT where
assessing the Inkberrow Exchange to confirm the amount
of work that needed to be done to make the Inkberrow
telephone exchange broadband compliant.
