During June and July, Inkberrow First School
held a Scarecrow Competition that was kindly sponsored by
Brooklyn Motors. With over 50 entries, this proved to be a big
success in its first year, with several people asking for entry
forms for next year already.
The competition was a talking point for many
villagers, getting a good community atmosphere. The event even
got coverage on the News, when Shefali came to broadcast the
local weather from the School.
The event was to raise money
for Inkberrow First School, and tied in with the run up to their
annual School fete on the 3rd July. Hopefully next
year’s competition will be even bigger and better then this
year.
Thanks must be given to
Clare Hill and Brenda Smith for the organisation, Brooklyn
Motors for Sponsorship, and also to the Local Post Office and
Shop for selling the “Scarecrow Trail” booklets.
